Make a contribution to providing free tutoring services for low income youth and adult students in the Whittier Area

We raise funds to provide free tutoring services to youth and adults

Imagine a student who is struggling in school but does not have the resources to catch up with his or her peers. Imagine an adult who wants to learn English to get a better job or help a child in school but needs additional support to do so. The Whittier Area Literacy Council is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to teaching youth and adults in the Whittier area to read, write and speak the English language, free of charge to students. To fulfill our mission, WALC trains community volunteers and pairs them with students. We use a variety of methods and materials to meet the learning goals of our students. WALC is funded by grants, personal donations, fundraisers, the City of Whittier, local service organizations, and partnerships with other non-profits and city agencies. Will you please consider joining our Giving Circle of Friends with either a one-time or ongoing donation? Your gift will be very much appreciated.
